Marigolds & Calendula

Now, let’s talk flowers! These little powerhouses aren’t just for looks—they help keep pests away and bring in all the good pollinators. Plus, calendula is one of my secret ingredients in our farm-fresh teas. It’s soothing, healing, and just plain beautiful. Chamomile & Lavender If you’ve ever had a cup of our garden tea, you know how much I love chamomile and lavender. These herbs bring relaxation in every sip, and starting them now means I’ll have plenty for tea blends, self-care products, and a whole lot of peaceful moments in the garden. Caring for These Baby Plants Starting seeds isn’t just about planting and hoping for the best—it takes a little TLC. Here’s how I keep them happy: • The Right Soil – Good soil is everything! I use an organic, nutrient-rich mix to give them the best start. • Plenty of Light – Seedlings need about 12-16 hours of light per day, so I keep them under grow lights to make sure they don’t get too leggy. • Steady Watering – Moist but not soggy is the goal. Nobody likes wet feet, including plants! • Warmth & Humidity – Some seeds need extra warmth to sprout, so I use heat mats when necessary. Let’s Grow Together! There’s something special about growing food—whether it’s in a backyard garden, a few pots on the porch, or a full-scale farm. Every little plant starts as a tiny seed, and with the right care, it grows into something beautiful and nourishing. If you’re growing something this season, I’d love to hear about it! Drop a comment, send a message, or let’s chat over on Instagram. And if you’re just here to enjoy the harvest—don’t worry, I’ve got plenty coming your way soon. Happy planting, friends! 🌱💚

Starting Seeds: Growing Goodness from the Ground Up

Spring is right around the corner, and you already know what that means—seed-starting season is in full swing! I’ve been busy planting and prepping for this year’s harvest, making sure we get the freshest, most flavorful produce straight from the garden to your plate. If you’ve been thinking about starting a garden or just love knowing where your food comes from, let’s talk about what’s sprouting over here at FlavorbyF.A.I.T.H. Why Start Seeds Early? If you’ve ever waited too late to plant and ended up with a sad little harvest, trust me—I’ve been there! Starting seeds indoors gives our plants a head start, letting them grow strong before they move outside. It also means we can control the conditions, keeping those baby plants safe from crazy weather, pests, and whatever else Mother Nature decides to throw our way. What’s Growing Over Here? Eggplant I can’t lie—eggplant is one of my favorites. It’s so versatile, whether roasted, grilled, or blended into a smooth, smoky dip. Getting these seeds going early helps ensure a steady supply of plump, deep-purple beauties all summer long. Cucumber There’s nothing like a fresh, crisp cucumber straight from the vine. Whether tossed in a salad or infused in water for a refreshing sip, cucumbers are a must-have in the garden. Plus, when the season really kicks in, I’ll be making plenty of farm-fresh pickles! Bell Peppers & Hot Peppers Sweet or spicy? I say both! Peppers take their time to grow, so I always start them early to make sure we get plenty for fresh salsas, stir-fries, and stuffed pepper recipes. And let’s be real—there’s nothing like a homegrown pepper to add some serious flavor to your meals. Zucchini Zucchini is a garden favorite because it just keeps on giving. I use it in everything—zoodles, fritters, bread, and even sneaking it into desserts. It grows fast once it gets going, so starting seeds now means an early (and steady) harvest later.
